i share a post that i did with

    Elders of the Tsek`ehne Nation + friends in BC Canada.

                     please take the time to review, for others are saying the blue fin tuna has become toxic from Japans release of radiation. also some are selling it as if it is afar that has the issue, which cannot be true for they migrate + pass it on to their young.

      Even Sec Hillary Clinton was hiding this fact as she said we should continue to buy from afar fish. sadly we must become aware of what is toxic + share alternatives.. when Hurricane in gulf polluted so much even mycelium was used to clean it up. you can stay updated by networking but please don't get lost in information that exploits + does not respect all life. Helen is having her symposium in march on the effects of Nuclear radiation from Japan`s accident + i suggest make this a community event;

                      http://www.nuclearfreeplanet.org/symposium.html

to trigger your local thought to better define your traditional gauges. which i like Professor Miguel Altieri whom creates agro_ecology science as he works thru out the world with indigenous simply recording their ways as in S America. google him + he can tell the global food crises we have from the Bill Gates Mode + Free Trade, even some Fair Trade that is not free. it is best to live local + share what works so each local community can self-sustain.

     we do not need products shipped around the world polluting as more natural resources are consumed wastefully leaving locals unable while wasteful people are supplied their desires. rather invite them into your local tapering transition + share with them the local facts so they can rethink + together make wrongs right, + students can produce good ecological assessments for good investments for locals to maintain local sovereignty. when yet many as with La Via Campesina see the land/seas/fresh water grabbed when we fail to look within + see the effects we leave with footprints, or fail to hold ourself + other locals accountable locally + afar. we unite in solidarity!

    these folks wanting their own sovereignty, as Chief Gilbert Chingee + his lady Winnie, have made their call, can share much wisdom to all to do the same to better define how we can protect all life more efficiently, when Government`s dysfunctions are interfering. yet still find a `way to communicate with respect for our human family, giving them the clarity to join in..

Traditional Leader Gilbert Chingee of the Tsek'ehne Nation has announced that they are Asserting their Inherent Sovereignty of their Traditional Territory to the Canadian Government. This Action must be taken due to the "Crimes Against Humanity" and "Genocide" that has and continues to take place within Our Nation. Harper must ask for permission to enter into Our Lands. We will only work with the Canadian Government on a Nation to Nation Basis.

 "Any companies on Our Lands will have to deal directly through Us. Any potential Industry MUST gain permission and work directly through the Tsek'ehne Nation. The Government of Canada has done enough serious damage and pain to My Peoples and it has to stop now. I ask the World to support My People in this." - Chief Gilbert Chingee, Tsek'ehne  Nation

   we must be aware of the reality of good work being done locally as well our friends afar from La Via Campesina as well their ongoing updates to us all, for each of us to look within, to see the effects we leave as we hold ourself accountable locally + afar, as well all others;

           17 April: International Day of Peasants’ Struggles

Resist the commercialisation of nature - Stop land grabbing!

Call for mobilisation

    The dramatic environmental, economic and social crises that we are currently observing have surprisingly not led to a complete change in the direction taken by most national and international elites. On the contrary, we are seeing an increased offensive by economic super-powers to grab all the resources still available to make a profit. Land has become a valuable commodity entering speculative trade, followed by water, seeds etc. This hyper-commercialisation of the commons leads to a massive dispossession of the people who are simply living on the land. Women and men farmers are particularly affected.

      At the same time, resistance is blooming everywhere. All over the world, urban and rural communities hit by the same wave of privatisation and destruction of life are resisting against transnational companies which impose the rule of profit over the people's needs and rights.

      People's resistance against GMOs has recently led to some victories: sustainable agroecological farming initiatives have developed in cities and in the countryside to feed local populations; thousands of people have protested against the absurdity of some "development projects" such as destructive mines, airports, shopping malls, or industrial plantations. Farmers and civil society groups have strongly opposed land grabbing everywhere...

      The international peasants’ movement La Via Campesina has been defending and expanding the practice and policies of food sovereignty around the world for 20 years. To launch another 20 years of struggle, we are calling for a massive mobilisation day on 17 April, the International Day of Peasants’ Struggles, to reclaim our food system which is being increasingly occupied by transnational capital. We invite everyone to organise activities, protests, art exhibitions, direct actions, discussions, film screenings, farmers markets etc., in your village, school, office, neighbourhood, organisation, community...

Origins of this Day of Action: On 17 April 1996, in Eldorado dos Carajás in the Amazonian state of Pará in Brazil, the state military police massacred peasants involved in the Movement of Landless Rural Workers (MST), killing 19 individuals. That day, 1500 women and men participating in the MST occupied and blocked a highway with the intention of pressuring the state and federal governments for agrarian reform. At about 4pm, 155 state military police from two brigades surrounded the MST on the highway, firing tear-gas and live ammunition from machine guns. In addition to the 19 MST killed during the massacre, three more died later from injuries, and 69 people were wounded. State authorities – the police, the army and powerful local landowners – were involved in planning and executing the massacre. More than fifteen years later, none of those responsible for the massacre at Eldorado dos Carajás has been imprisoned or punished.
